em>Running into Water is not just another woman's book; it's an articulate and compelling call to women and mothers from every dialect of life for renewed purpose and hope.
We all desperately need water to sustain our physical lives, just as we need God to sustain our spiritual lives. The idea of women immersed in God transformed through the practice of motherhood, is as much as for who women will be as it is for who the next generation will become. This endeavor demands that mothers not only be heartfelt women, but intellectual ones, engaging the world around them. Women in pursuit of God live lives that are anything but commonplace; their mothering becomes anything but ordinary. To be a woman, mother, and learner of Christ, applying his freedom and teaching to life is much more than good morality or a safe, dull existence; it is a profound resurrection to life as its meant to be.
Angela Blycker invites you to join her on this personal, global, thoughtful, and applicable journey in Running into Water as she explores and interweaves the beliefs and questions about pursuing God, gives evidence of practical implications of this in the lives of women internationally through the bold application of spiritual truths, and presents insightful vision for intentional motherhood.
Despite the continued struggles of women and children, Running into Water shows that their pursuit of God is as powerful as a mighty rushing river, winding in every direction, breaking up dry ground in different ways and in various times, but always with the intent to deliver life now and in the coming generations.

Each short chapter left me wanting to rush into the next one...but, this is book to go over slowly, thoughtfully...like a fine meal. Biblically accurate in each subject chapter. The format lent itself to a women's discussion group perfectly. GREAT book to buy an expectant mom; but not limited to mothers alone.
The best book I personally have in my library of spiritual reading.

Running into Water Women Immersed in the Pursuit of God edition by Angela Blycker Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Do you know the definition of insanity? It's doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different result. Many times motherhood is like this, isn't it? We get caught in mindless ruts of the same habits yet desperately wish something would turn out different. And wishing our kids would turn out different, too. If you are in need of a spash of cool water to wake you up from the daily grind of diapers, dishes, dance class, dirty noses, doctor's, dentists, driving, dinner and Desperate Housewives, (gasp) this book will do just that. It will wake you up and get you thinking about the incredible gift that motherhood is in an entirely new way. It will challenge your thinking, stretch you spiritually and give you ideas that have never crossed your mind before -- I promise! It's not a quick read, but you'll be easily spurred on to read more as the content is so fresh for the soul. If you are striving to be more that the be-all, do-all mom, this book will paint a beautiful picture about your unique role to pass down the precious gifts of wisdom, knowlegde and understanding. You will be a better mother, step-mother, foster-mother, adopted mother, grandmother and big sister for reading this book; guarenteed. Get one for yourself and for a mom you love.
Forwarded by Nichole Nordman, this astounding book is a true paradigm-shifter for women who are thirsty to realize all they are meant to be as women and as mothers. Using the metaphor of our physical thirst for water to represent every woman's thirst for God, Angela Blycker leads us on her own intensely personal journey to quench that thirst.
In rich, lyrical language, Blycker draws a realistic picture of motherhood. Over this picture she superimposes images of Christ and women world-wide, weaving a fascinating literary brocade. This multi-layered effect shifts our focus off of ourselves as we enjoy God through Christ's redeeming sacrifice; we enjoy who we are in Christ along with all of the benefits implied in that relationship; and lastly, we learn to care for one other internationally. As women we are transformed by this shift of focus.
Running Into Water Women Immersed in the Pursuit of God will alter the lives of women in many seasons and different walks of life. This book belongs to women who are confused by Christianity they feel jaded by the discrepancy between what Christians claim and how Christians live. These women are presented with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ in common language that is uncomplicated by religious terminology. This book belongs to women marginalized, disenfranchised, or disillusioned by the local church. Blycker rallies no denomination and purports no agenda other than "the fame of God". It is not through the "right" denomination or formula that we will arrive at the throne room of God. This book is for the mother who has believed that mothering is less valuable or intellectual than other pursuits. She will find a shift in paradigm it is not in spite of her mothering but because of it that she becomes all that she is meant to be as a woman actualized in the molding of her children, fully engaged in a global world, and priceless in eternity. Finally, this book is for the mother who feels she has failed. She is not just behind the eight ball; she is about to be run over by it. In this book she will find the road to healing from the ever-nagging guilt that she is never enough.
The book is presented in three sections. In the first five chapters Blycker presents the beliefs that led her on her quest for living water. Her thirst makes us aware of our own. Over the twelve chapters that follow, Blycker responds to this need by breathing new life into Christian practices that for some have become brittle and ritualistic but are meant to be life-giving blessings from the hand of God for weary women. Blycker describes each sacrament in the fresh words of one who is discovering first-hand the joys under-girding the concepts. The final section of the book is a practical application for living in freedom and dreaming with vision, and then releasing our children to do the same. By the book's end we find we have not only been given a drink of pure water but we have been washed by it as well. Satisfied and cleansed, we are inspired to reclaim our birthright as women to live the life of purpose that our Creator intended for us to live.
I found Blycker's website and blog to be equally thought-provoking and globally-minded [...]
Thank you sooooo much for the book you have written! It was much needed! I have been sharing it with everyone! There is nothing like it out there! I rushed through it so I could start over again! Thank you!! You're love and obedience is extraordinary! I had been praying and searching for a study guide that had some depth, insight and truly directed us toward our purpose on this earth. This is it! I am learning a ton!! Thank you!!
Running into Water was a book that I read through once quickly, just because it was so refreshing to hear Angela's perspective....I wanted to keep reading; to read all she had to say. Now, I am reading it very slowly, one chapter at a time, absorbing all I can into who I am. Angela has wise words about our purpose as followers of Christ, and she is guiding us on that journey with obvious sincerity and passion. Thank you, Angela. Start your next book soon, please! )
This is not your typical book on mothering. This book is about immersing ourselves as mothers into the Living Water. Wrapping our lives and the lives of our children so tightly around Jesus that no one can tell where we end and He begins.
This book is not about diapers and educational methods. It is not about psychology or behavior modification techniques. It is deeper than that. It is about the issues of the soul, down inside where all that ultimately matters is housed. If we get this right, we will never fall for the whispers of the enemy again. If we miss it, we will continue to be plagued with guilt and doubts. We will continue to wonder if we did it right or if there was something we could have done better for our children. We will continue to beat ourselves up over their every stumble. We will continue to try to control and micro-manage their lives so that they worship and live and behave the "right" way. This books assures me one more time what God's own Word confirms. I am a child of the Most High God. He is the one with the perfect plan for my children. My job is not to lay out the vision, it is to prayerfully consider His vision and then come alongside my children, partnering with the God who does all things well to help them along their path. Their way of living out their mission before God may look radically different than mine.
I highly recommend this book if your desire is to put away the guilt and walk in the freedom that you have in Jesus.
