Some might consider him a bit of a beast. Others knew him to be particular and demanding. The Marquess of Penrith didn’t really care. After returning from war. All he wanted was peace and quiet. But, duty and honor demanded that he marry the young Miss Davis. An obligation that could not be denied.
Luckily, marriage did not equate to love.
Miss Catherine Davis dreaded the thought of marrying such a man. But what choice did she have. Penniless, without family. Her options were limited. The fact that he was extremely handsome, powerful, and rich, only made things worse.
Two people from different worlds, forced together, both searching for happiness. Perhaps they can only find it by coming together.

This story wasn't as entertaining as the rest of the series. A weak plot, self absorbed angry hero, uninteresting heroine and lackluster romance made this a difficult read. Other than a brief mention, the other characters that have appeared throughout the series were seriously missed. This coupled with the ever present grammatical and punctuation errors resulted in a two star rating. Very disappointed.Product details

Marrying The Marquess Love Pride Book 4 edition by GL Snodgrass Romance eBooks Reviews
I always enjoy a book that is able to engage my mind and bring forth mental images of places I have lived or visited. The author excels at her craft and always produces a finished product that leaves me satisfied and feeling I have been mentally transported to another time and place. A well told romance that will leave you feeling good.
I have rated this book 4 stars and recommend it to anyone who is interested in a good romance with flair.
I obtained this book from in format.
A nice romance with likable characters. The butler was especially good, with his humorous interaction with the marquess. I think that the book would have been better without the loose ends and unanswered questions. Who was Mr. Cheavers? What was the story about John Davis? What were the nightmares about? Where was the conversation to resolve everything? That was frustrating. It would have been a 5 star story instead of feeling unfinished. I will read more from this author because I really enjoyed "The Earl's Regret".
Story was OK, but the marquess's excuses for avoiding love were tiresome. The lack of proper sentence structure was really annoying. Fragments were everywhere, even one time that the subject and predicate were separated into two separate "sentences." For Heaven's sake, find an editor.
This was a sweet romance about love with a sad Marquess that falls in love with his wife. It is relatively short but entertaining.
Decent enough story, but in need of a good proofread and edit. Fragmentary non-sentences. Spell-checker errors. (Now, where did I put my "tortuous shell combs?") Modern vernacular. (I sincerely doubt they said such things as "That was then, this is now" during the Regency.) Yikes! If you can forgive the blatant rough edges (I had a hard time doing so) be forewarned that this book is of the spicy variety and contains graphic sex. Although it didn't bother me, it's a deal-breaker for many readers and not apparent in the author's blurb. Borrowed through Unlimited.
Having read the previous 3 books in the Love's Pride series, I looked forward to reading Marrying the Marquess. I was disappointed.
Catherine was an appealing protagonist who didn't develop airs, despite her elevation in status. I enjoyed seeing that becoming a marchioness wasn't necessarily a simple thing to do and that ultimately she was smart enough to do the right thing. Mason's behavior was never quite satisfactorily explained beyond that the war had scarred him both physically and mentally, but he still managed to fulfill his duty as a land owner. I also enjoyed the perfect butler, Blake. But the story lacked conflict. Mason couldn't allow himself to love his wife because.... well, just because. Getting shot, however, will apparently solve any marital problem, but I doubt modern counselors will recommend it.
I was VERY annoyed by all of the spelling and grammar errors; there was an error on nearly every page! I couldn't always divine the writer's intended meaning due to missing or misspelled words, improper plurals/possessives, incorrect homonyms, sentence fragments or plain bad grammar. Spellcheck does not make a good editor! There are numerous products available (many are free!) that do a decent job of finding & correcting such errors, though a real live person would be far preferable as an editor.
There are better books available by this same author, so I recomment skipping this one.
One can only assume that English is not the author's first language. There were sentences without the proper structure, commas in all the wrong places. Throw in a few spelling errors and you have a book that was nearly impossible to read. The only reason I was willing to finish it was because the story itself was quite engaging. For the love of all that's literary, please take some English composition classes.
